MyMMOGames.net has created a new staff position. With all the active users that we have, we wanted to provide a way that our members can take pride in ownership of their contributions and increased responsibility without adding the overhead of moderator responsibilities.
Content mangers have a distinctive
Username, custom title, and will soon (once we get it made) have a userbar in their postbit similar to the admins and moderators. They receive all the perks of the VIP usergroup.
What they are: They are members of staff. They have ownership of content for the game to which they are assigned. They can see "Staff Discussion" and "Staff Random". They can suggest events and promotions to drive interest in their games. They are a representation of the site staff and will be expected to conduct themselves accordingly.
What they are not: They are not moderators. They have no moderation powers; though they can see some information that is not available to the general public. They are not to imply they have moderator powers or attempt to enforce site rules; use "Report Post" for these.

New Games: 99.99% of your time should be invested in generating content and driving interest. Generating content means getting out there in your game forum, replying to existing threads, and starting new threads. The forum is the most powerful search engine tool we have and we need to use it to bring new people. The forum is how they find us, the wiki and guides are usually the reason they stay. If you don't know much about wiki editing now's the time you need to learn. Events now and then are nice, but we don't need to saturate the community with them for new games. Let the administrative team handle the events for now - we're probably going to tack cash shop/subscriptions onto our existing events for this one. Remember, your guides are the heart of your game section. Without them, it will die.
Mature Games: We have a blooming forum section. We have a comprehensive wiki. Job's not done! =D Always make sure the wiki is completely up to date with at least the most current patches and events. Make sure the official announcements are cross-posted properly. Keep at guide generation! Now is the time to begin thinking about events for the community. Some events will be isolated to the game itself - for these you really need no coordination with the admin staff - just think up something cool and go~ Larger events can be broadcast to the entire community and these will need admin involvement. Let us know what we can do to help. Remember with your prizes - before you commit to spending site funds you must clear it with me. We don't mind spending money on prizes but we need to limit the damage it does to MMOG's wallet.
General Tips:- Guides bring people in - hands down. If your game has little or no guides, don't be afraid to PM active users and ask them to write guides. Be respectful if they refuse, but be active in trying to get them written. Write some yourself =]
- The wiki can make or break your game. People find the site, talk about the game, realize the wiki is shit, and leave. Work together to take care of it - if you need help please don't hesitate to ask the wiki staff (sysops).
- Market brings a different audience. The market generally brings more "registered lurkers". All they do is post market and lurk other sections. Don't write them off as a loss! There have been many lurker-turned-active cases and something you post could make that converstion! If guides are the heart of your game section, the market is the blood.
- Keep your announcements up to date! A good indication of how much we care about a game can be seen through our upkeep of the <Game> Announcements forum.
- Get active in other communities! Especially official communities, these are a great place to farm interest. Don't just barge in blaring advertisements - actually plug in and be helpful. When you help someone, link back to the MMOG resource from which they can find more information. Your "help" will be much more respected if its actually helpful and not just an advertisement. Above all, respect the rules of the other community. Disregarding their rules makes us look bad and no one wants to come to a community like that.

All new content managers are on a probationary status for the first 30 days. It's the same as the way a trial moderator works but since there's no security settings involved with the CM group it didn't make sense to have a "Trial CM" group. We'll be watching and make a final decision on permanency at the 30 day mark. All dates of acceptance were logged.
We do this as a final check to see who can actually do the job and who cannot - also to weed out the people that apply just for a "cool orange name". The operations staff works their asses off to make this site thrive so I'm quite sure they won't be too happy with people that sign up for a name color change.
