Installshield/Windows Installer unicode issues.

So, anyone encounter stuff like these?

It was working fine few months/weeks back.

And it suddenly becomes like that...and it causes the installations to fail since ...it can't write symbols to files/folders name, lol

I'm not sure what I changed, or something to the windows installer/installshield, lol.

Also, if you asked either I've changed my locale, then yes.

Checklist:
- Reset back to english - done
- Restart
- Removes every east asian language support pack - done
- Restart
- Reinstall the pack again - done
- Restart
- Set the locale back - done
- Restart
- Same thing

Even removed/reinstalled:-
- C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information - changed/renamed/removed - done
- Windows Installer 3.1 - reinstall - done.

No idea what happened, I'm suspecting either one of these are the culprit:
- Windows Installer
- InstallShield.

Any suggestions?

applocale wont run those installers with .msi ;;

Installations will not success if I continue, since it will pops up error with...also symbols/gibberish/korean words with...[guessed] unable to write file [symbols] ><

Anyway, fyi, I did all the necessary stuff, no helps.

Out of ideas -_-', not sure which part [insert curse words here] with windows ._.

And don't freakin suggest me reinstall/uninstall windows, I'll /ties up someone that said those ._.

Install on another computer.
Copy files over to your computer.
Merge relevant registry entries.

I guess that would work.

Well, you've already tried everything I can think to do...

that's weird, it's supposed to display Japanese fonts not Korean
windows probably needs a re-install, you've done everything else I could mention :/

I dont seem to have any problems with regards to installing éroges, 'lest the installers themselves are corrupt
Regional & Language options: everything set to Japanese

Usually such issue is fixed by setting your Non-unicode (system locale) to the language it was made for, in this case Japanese, then restarting your computer before opening the program.

In which case if your tried that already, I don't know what else to suggest.

Even reset the fonts [removed, restart, reinstall, change back to eng, restart, re-set locale, restart]

This is what I mean:

The installer launches the InstallShield wizard, ok, it's all in japanese/unicode form.




But once it passes Windows Installer, it will turns to those...gibberish characters ._.

It won't let you use english on folder/file names?
It should allow that, regardless of the use of what language.

When does the error occur, during file naming? installation?
need more detail plz.

Out of idea on whats wrong actually Q_Q.

The files to be written is in normal english form, but the installer is in japanese unicode, and since windows installer/install shield failed to display the characters properly, it will shows up like this


Those files will becomes in symbol form <_<'
