Computer screen out of focus

My computer had some problems today, its screen keeps on going out of focus after sometime and I then had to shut it down and restart it.

I thought it was a virus, but it still happened even after I did a virus scan.
I also thought it could be my charger not plugged in properly, but I already plugged in my charger as hard as I could but it still happens.
I did a system restore but it still doesn't seem to improve.

Does anyone know what is the cause?

At this rate, if this goes on, my PC will eventually spoil.

Can you elaborate more on "going out of focus"?

Is it suddenly shrinking, or?

Um, the whole screen just goes out of focus and any music that is being played at that time will freeze too.

You haven't answered my first question, is it CRT or LCD monitor, also, laptop or desktop?

Anyway, try this a while, to check the log.

- Start->Run
- Type eventvwr.msc
- Go to System
- Check on Error messages, on the recent problem you just had.

Also, are you using Windows Vista or XP?

Few 'possible' causes:
- Corrupted Windows installations
- Corrupted memory
- Bad sectors in HDD.

Well I don't know what monitor it is, and its a desktop, a very old one, in any case I might buy a new one.

Could be corruptions.

Try this

First, check up your HDD.
-Start->Run
- Type CMD and press ENTER
- Then type chkdsk /f/r/x and press ENTER
- Restart computer.
- Let it run.
