Srsly, if you want to flame...
You're searching for the wrong person to do that so. Remember me, remember MyTrickster, remember that thread I've flamed at MyChase.

Stop. I'm dealing with this, there's no need for everyone else to throw their opinions in as it will just fan the flames.

Similar problems may very well happen with TCP if status of the item changes after packet loss and TCP starts resending old information. Lack of packet ordering isn't a problem in some cases, like character movement

No, you use TCP for chat programs so that messages actually arrive their destination

I take it back. I do know of a game that uses UDP, as I totally spaced and noticed as I was playing it.
Darkages uses UDP, and it's fairly noticable in certain things.
Firstly, when you're moving, you can walk into walls and people, however once the packet telling the game you can't do that arrives shortly after, it "bumps" you back. However this often causes a problem we call "Screen shift", where the client now believes you're in a different spot than you are, and you end up being hit by monsters you think are off a few spaces, as well as missing targets you think you're hitting, and since spellcasting is click based, you end up trying to cast on the air, all because of datagrams.

I don't feel 'much' of a difference.
Maybe when I play a more demanding game I will.

Did you read my blog yet?
Check on those keys, find something with ip like 192.x.x.x.
But this tweak doesn't work with all connections, as mentioned.

Reducing the Ping/Delay on your MMO's?
How to Hack your Ping for Video Games
I haven't tried it. But it's supposed to somehow make your connection to the server better, thus reducing any lag/delay. CAN be especially helpful for any of you people that play non-english versions of games.
>>>>I DIDN'T TRY THIS. I DON'T KNOW IF IT ACTUALLY WORKS.<<<<
It'd be nice if someone tried it to verify if it works.

/merged.
Anyway, as I mentioned @ my first post, it might work, or not work with your connection, depending on what kind of connection you're using, also what kind of games you're playing.
I see that, like mmorpg based games, it will helps you a lot, but if you're playing like in FPS based, it might lags you badly.
Also, as I mentioned again, your connections.
If you're on 3Gay...er..3G, it will dc you a lot.
