Helping Out With the TO Wiki

:x I ran into another problem....I started re-uploading the "big" pictures for the swords, but I just noticed that the images are named the same, except for the extension, (.jpg or .png)

Is this okay to leave, or do I have to go back and rename them in another format?

ok i've been editing pages here and there.. and found few problems/question.

1) i was editing character/job pages and lotta guides linked in each page goes to MT. if it exist in mmg wiki/forum, i can fix the link, but what should I do if it doesn't exist? should I just go ahead and delete them?

2) browser shortcut doesn't work in my firefox 3 for some reason.. it worked on my safari but it stopped working... i don't have my laptop with me at the moment so i have to use my desktop which means FF..... (and by browser shortcut i mean... in safari, if i press ctrl+e it moves to edit page. if i do ctro+m ,it moges to move page)

3) this is more of what i found out rather than "problem"..
so i use search function heavily.. i actually utilize keyword search function of FF/safari+saft to get to wiki pages. if you just go to the wiki and search for.. say "refinement", you don't get the refinement page in the search result. you either have to search for "trickster online:refinement" or select trickster online namespace in the bottom of search page. This doesn't get saved between browser sessions. There's a preference page for search in which you can select default namespaces to search which technically fix the problem.. although i think this should be mentioned somewhere where new people can read so they don't get confused.

or like that: [[{{NAMESPACE}}:Other Crap|Other Crap]] ??

Both of them are working fine, though.

I think we're supposed to use the {{NAMESPACE}} one. I believe Medoria posted about that earlier in this thread... Was it Medoria? D: .... ><

I also had a question! What's the difference between an event item and a quest item? Like for example: should Red Beans be listed as an even or a quest item? Or both? :x The more I thought about it, the more confused I got @.@;

Quest items are items that are permanent, such as things requested for Key Quests.

Event items are temporary items used for current events, such as the Lycan event. Do not put event items in the quest item category, as this is to remove a lot of clutter there.

Also, it's best to use {{NAMESPACE}} for links, however there seems to be some times where you'll need to use Trickster_Online:, such as when the links are on a category page. (as it would use Category as the namespace)

oh ok. So for something like Poison Mushroom that was used for a past event but still remains in the game as a non-quest item, it should be listed as an event item?

I think I've seen a few cases where an event item was listed as a quest item. I'll change them whenever I come across them :3

Here I come again... with a new issue

Look at this page, it's a good exemple: Category:Card Quest - MyMMOGames.net Wiki

Some of the card quests in here just display all the Request & Reward informations without any problem (ex: Request: 1x Sppo Card, Reward: 3x Arcana Smart Card).

But some others don't show anything but a blank space: Request: 1x (blank) Reward: 3x (blank).

Reason is, all the working links have been formated including the "Trickster Online:" namespace. Those using {{NAMESPACE}}: won't show up, basically, because there's no namespace to be called on pages such as this one: Category:Card_Quest.

Any clue how to fix this ? In the future, this issue may appear on (m)any other pages...

I notified also the sysops. The normal thing to do is to move the content from the categories to another page. Basically categories are just for categorization not for content. Or if it is really necessary to have content on a Category, we need to change from NAMESPACE to Trickster_Online so the correct namespace will appear.

Just use explicit links. It's easy to fix and you don't need to be a sysop to do it.
I would normally just want to use {{NAMESPACE}} but we are doing a lot of content in categories and including templates in categories etc. That it's becoming an issue. So just use "Trickster Online" instead. K?

Thats why i said to have more wikis, not one containing them all. Now its too late

There is/was too much overhead to support multiple instances of mediawiki that is the reason we did it this way. there was no other option.

Well i went ahead did a screen shot of my beserk skill icon, cropped it then upload it to 3rd job Scientist skills beserk since there were no pics. I'll continue from here and bow my head in shame if I happen to mess up. Trickster Online:Scientist Skills - MyMMOGames.net Wiki Sorry for the double post.

Another question. Where do I find quests? Cause i can't seem to find a link to quests and I'd like to help with the Quest Content.
